Équipe Fonctionnement Écologique des Sols Tropicaux et tempérés "FEST" - iEES Paris

L’objectif principal de l’équipe FEST est de mieux comprendre les interactions entre les acteurs biologiques et les propriétés abiotiques des sols, et l’impact de ces interactions sur les services écosystémiques qui en découlent.

En particulier, nous étudions l’influence des ingénieurs du sol (surtout vers de terre, termites et activité microbienne) et leurs « productions » (biostructures, biopores mais aussi composts et lombricomposts en tant qu’amendements organiques utilisés dans la gestion des sols agricoles) sur la dynamique des propriétés abiotiques des sols et les sorties écosystémiques essentielles suivantes : le stockage et la dynamique du carbone et de l’eau, la croissance des plantes et le détachement (l’érosion) des sols.

Pour cela, nos études sont menées le long d’un gradient pédoclimatique allant de régions à fort déficit hydriques annuels jusqu’à des régions à fort excès hydriques, en nous appuyant sur les différents chantiers de l’UMR iEES Paris (Brésil, Chili, France) et les observatoires AMMA-CATCH et M-TROPICS au Niger, en Tunisie, en Inde, en Thaïlande, au Laos, au Vietnam.

Les activités de l’équipe FEST répondent aux besoins des sociétés de mieux préserver leur environnement, de gérer de façon durable leurs ressources naturelles, et de définir des pratiques culturales durables dans les écosystèmes productifs
(en accord avec les Objectifs 2 « Sécurité alimentaire », 15 « Vie terrestre », 13 « Lutte contre le changement climatique » et 6 « Eau propre et assainissement » du Développement Durable (ODD), et dans le cadre de l’initiative internationale du 4p1000).

Faisant partie de l’Ecole Doctorale 129 « Sciences de l’Environnement », les membres de l’équipe FEST sont impliqués dans différentes formations :

  • En France, via l’accueil de stagiaires en Master 1 et 2 et de la dispense d’enseignements à Sorbonne Université (Master SDUEE), à l’Université Paris-Saclay (Masters GSSE et CLUES), à l’UPEC (Master STAAE – IBE), et à l’Université François Rabelais de Tours (Master STS).
  • A l’étranger, au travers de la formation d’étudiants et la dispense d’enseignements à l’Université des Sciences et Technologies de Hanoi (USTH), au sein de la faculté d’Agriculture de l’Université Nationale du Laos (NUOL) et de l’université de Khon Kaen (KKU) en Thailande, ainsi que dans le cadre du Master International Nord-Sud en Sciences du sol.
