Nous accueillerons cette semaine au séminaire IEES l’invité de Pierre Carol(*), le professeur Ivan de Godoy Maia, de l’Université de Sao Pauloa (Brésil), qui nous parlera de “Plant Uncoupling Mitochondrial Proteins (UCP) and Dicarboxylate Carriers (DIC) at the Interface of Energy Metabolism and Cell Signaling“. Le séminaire aura lieu en anglais.
Résumé: Mitochondrial transporters are involved in the exchange of metabolites and intermediates between the mitochondria and the cell cytoplasm. Due to their known role in maintaining mitochondrial homeostasis and in plant response to environmental stress, these carriers are potential targets to improve plant performance under adverse conditions. This presentation will focus on the physiological and metabolic roles played by Uncoupling Mitochondrial Protein (UCP) and Dicarboxylate Carrier (DIC). The recent discovery that UCP1 is involved in the mitochondrial control of a hypoxia response via stabilization of Group VII Ethylene Response Factor Transcription Factors (ERFVIIs) through the PRT6 N-Degron pathway will be discussed. In parallel, the molecular and functional characterization of single and double T-DNA insertion mutants of DIC genes in Arabidopsis will be presented.
