COOLSCHOOLS

COOLSCHOOLS is a transdisciplinary applied research project that aims to analyze the multiple co-benefits of implementing nature-based solutions for climate change adaptation in European school environments. We will explore in particular how schoolyard greening policies can act as a driver of urban transformation thanks to an approach centered on the needs and points of view of children and young people, but also of all educational communities ( teachers, parents, administrative staff).
The COOLSCHOOLS project brings together researchers in geography, sociology, ecology and health who analyze revegetation operations through different complementary and interrelated approaches from the angle of social justice, biodiversity conservation, public health, security, inclusive governance and quality education from school to the metropolitan region. (source: CoolSchools website)
